Amigurumi Break July 3, 2008

Taking a break from all the baking and fondant (because I ordered a bunch of new chocolate molds and I’ll be busy with that until the trip to Mexico I’m oh-so excited about), let’s take a look at what I’ve been knitting these past few weeks.

When I looked through my yarn stash, I found this weird fuzzy green yarn that I couldn’t do much with. I also found some ugly brown wool yarn that wasn’t exactly my favorite color. Put the two together and you get these little trees.

I absolutely adore this tiny turtle amigurumi pattern from Knitted Toy Box. Can’t get enough bitty turtles on my shelves!

Frankly, I care more about my ipod geting scratched than my feet blistering up.

Boredom is Fun. May 17, 2008

Summer’s getting near and I’ve always hated long hot days full of nothing to do. While I enjoy knitting and reading, I always find myself feeling better when I take up something new every year. Last year was bellydancing and movie watching and writing my own reviews afterwards. This year, it’s origami.

Of course, I’ll probably still stick to knitting since I made this cute little mushroom.

And movie watching because I suddenly have this fascination with Ben Barnes (aka Prince Caspian).

Bootie Obsession April 12, 2008

That is, baby booties.

Now, I don’t have a baby, nor do I plan on having one yet (I’m only 17!) but a new addition to my already extensive family was brought into the world about seven months ago and I’ve yet to meet him. I’ll be visiting my new baby cousin this summer in Mexico and as a (belated) welcoming gift, I’ve made the following:

The pattern comes from Stitch ‘n Bitch Nation and are appropriately called “One-Hour Baby Booties.” They’re incredibly easy to make and I made about three pairs under two hours.

I loved this pattern so much, I made a wee little one for myself.
